Should Non-Americans be allowed to run for President?

Many of todays Republicans think we should amend the Constitution so that Arnold Schwarzenegger can run for president even though the United States Constitution strictly forbids it (Article 2 Clause 5).

How does this benefit Americans and American sovereignty? I couldn’t find another example in history where any country allowed a non native to become leader where it turned out good for that country’s people – can you?
