I’m sorry but, Mr. P. wanted to finish a war his father never finished, isn’t that a little selfish? I’m only a 10 year old, but I also have feelings too. As you know some of the united states citizens are devastated from the war and there family members getting taken away too. Maybe it’s time we do need to have a protest! P.S. Please don’t arrest me! I’m only in sixth grade, I wanna finish my education!!!!

If anyone here thinks that the ‘privileged’ will spend one day in uniform when they don’t want to, you need to contact your friendly neighbourhood mechanic because you’re overdue for a reality check.
Paris Hilton would qualify for a stint in the army. Can you imagine that?

The only people who go to the army now are the poor and minorities in the hope of getting some benefits out of it later. If they survive. if they’re not too screwed up when the leave the service. It used to be that it was an honor to serve in the military. Now, the rich have too much to lose. Spend some time being shot at, lying in a ditch next to someone without an ivy league education. Perish the thought.

The US seriously needs to stop the wars for a while. It can’t take out insurgents fast enough, it holds only 1/3 of one city and the troops serve as target practice for guys with IEDs. Besides that, civilians in Iraq are suffering hugely under this crushing occupation. It needs to stop. There’s bigger fish to fry. Remember hurricane Katrina? The US could not even secure it’s own city. It took the federal government a week to get up to speed. That’s all that needs to be said about that.

If you’ve ever heard Murtha speak at one of the many high schools or colleges he has spoken at, you would know he not only supports the draft but more importantly, more wars.

Similar reading is Rangel’s bill from the 108th Congress where Murtha is listed as one of the two “yes” votes.

You must be referring to HR 2724, which is commonly referred to as the “civilian” draft bill.
